There are times when folks should be careful what they wish for. Exhibit A: Towards the end of Patrick Ewing’s career with the New York Knicks, many disgruntled fans of the storied pro-basketball franchise began to take out’ their frustrations on the Hall-of-Fame center. These ingrates sounded a lot like the young, unseasoned rappers who whine that veteran artists like Jay-Z and Nas need to step aside and make way for the new blood. Starved for an NBA championship that always seemed within grasp but was never delivered, hordes of Knicks fans misguidedly aimed their ire at Ewing, whom they felt held the team back. They may not want to admit it now, but like the sucker, emcees who “had the gall” to diss rap-king DMC back In the day, these haters “prayed and prayed for (Ewing’s) downfall’
