now; and Eddy Curry occupies the position that Patrick Ewing once so capably held down. Although the team is loaded with both veteran and rookie talent, the Knicks haven’t had much success these past few seasons and Isiah Thomas is looking to turn that around this 2006-07 season.

It was media day and the players were available for questions, and I had many inquiries.... Many concerns as a devoted follower of such a historic franchise... Plus I heard that they had a killer buffet laid out for members of the press, including shrimp salad wraps. Shortly after I arrived at the training facility, I stashed a few of those wraps in the pocket of my Dickies to eat on the train ride home, then I went and interviewed various Knicks players. I’m a starving artist, there’s no shame in my game.

Larry Brown, yet another Hall-of-Famer, coached the Knicks during the miserable 2005-06 season. Brown was canned after only one year of coaching what was supposed to be his dream job”, a year where the team posted a dismal 23-59 record. His countless lineup changes and his penchant for berating his players in the media were allegedly Larry’s main shortcomings, although there’s enough blame to go around from the front office all the way down to the some of the underachieving players. There’s no doubt that for all their deficiencies, the Knicks had a pretty talented squad during Larry Brown’s only season. So what the hell happened?
